This ghee is made for families who follow Jain maryada with care for shuchita (purity) and ahimsa. The calf is fed first, and only then is the milk of indigenous Kankrej cows collected. Around 28–30 litres of milk are slowly boiled for 8–10 hours in a mitti handi on a low gobar fire.

The milk is cultured into curd, churned by hand early in the morning during Brahma Muhurat using RO water, and the makkhan is warmed slowly into ghee. The result is a ghee with its own aroma, depth and texture.

Simple checks at home

These kitchen checks are only a rough guide and cannot prove purity. A food lab test is the only reliable way to check ghee.

  1. Melt a spoon
    Test 01

    Melt a spoon

Warm a spoonful in a pan. Pure ghee melts fast into a clear golden liquid with no residue and a light nutty smell.

Pure sign A clear golden liquid with no white residue or foam.

  2. Feel it vanish
    Test 02

    Feel it vanish

Rub a little between your palms — it should soak in within moments and leave behind a faint, nutty fragrance.

Pure sign It soaks in quickly and leaves a light, nutty smell.

  3. Watch it set
    Test 03

    Watch it set

Chill a little for an hour. Pure ghee sets into soft, grainy layers of golden hues rather than staying one uniform block.

Pure sign Soft, grainy layers in more than one golden shade.

Questions about this product

Do I need to keep it in the fridge?

No. Ghee keeps well at room temperature if the lid is closed and no water gets in. In a very hot kitchen you can keep it in a cool cupboard.

Why does the texture change between jars?

Ghee sets differently with temperature and season. A grainy set in winter and a more liquid look in summer are both normal.

How long does it keep?

Use it by the best-before date printed on the jar. Once opened, a dry spoon and a closed lid keep it at its best.

Which size should I order?

The smaller jar is a good way to try it. If ghee goes into most meals at home, the larger jar works out better for you.

Can I return it?

Food products cannot be returned once opened. If your jar arrives damaged or not as described, contact us with your order number and a photo and we will sort it out.
