Our A2 Bilona Ghee begins with the milk of indigenous Kankrej cows, a hardy Indian breed known for rich A2 milk. The milk is first set into curd, the curd is churned by hand in a wooden bilona, and the fresh makkhan is warmed slowly on a low flame. No cream, no shortcut — just the old whole-milk way.

It takes roughly 35 litres of milk to make one kilo of this ghee, and the only thing left over is chaas. That slow, patient process is why every Vedicmart jar has a deep aroma, a golden colour and the soft grainy texture families look for.

Why families choose it

  • Made from the A2 milk of indigenous Kankrej cows
  • Traditional whole-milk bilona method: milk → curd → makkhan → ghee
  • About 35 litres of milk go into every kilo
  • Naturally aromatic, golden and granular
  • For dal, khichdi, rotis, sweets, pooja and havan
  • No preservatives, colour, flavour or added oils

Simple checks at home

These kitchen checks are only a rough guide and cannot prove purity. A food lab test is the only reliable way to check ghee.

  1. Melt a spoon
    Test 01

    Melt a spoon

Warm a spoonful in a pan. Pure ghee melts fast into a clear golden liquid with no residue and a light nutty smell.

Pure sign A clear golden liquid with no white residue or foam.

  2. Feel it vanish
    Test 02

    Feel it vanish

Rub a little between your palms — it should soak in within moments and leave behind a faint, nutty fragrance.

Pure sign It soaks in quickly and leaves a light, nutty smell.

  3. Watch it set
    Test 03

    Watch it set

Chill a little for an hour. Pure ghee sets into soft, grainy layers of golden hues rather than staying one uniform block.

Pure sign Soft, grainy layers in more than one golden shade.

Questions about this product

Do I need to keep it in the fridge?

No. Ghee keeps well at room temperature if the lid is closed and no water gets in. In a very hot kitchen you can keep it in a cool cupboard.

Why does the texture change between jars?

Ghee sets differently with temperature and season. A grainy set in winter and a more liquid look in summer are both normal.

How long does it keep?

Use it by the best-before date printed on the jar. Once opened, a dry spoon and a closed lid keep it at its best.

Which size should I order?

The smaller jar is a good way to try it. If ghee goes into most meals at home, the larger jar works out better for you.

Can I return it?

Food products cannot be returned once opened. If your jar arrives damaged or not as described, contact us with your order number and a photo and we will sort it out.
